T-11: M Heads In for Plastic Surgery

I want to say one word to you. Just one word....Plastics.

Bob is Worried About M

Bob is worried about M-- about her paint that is.  Right now she is virtually unblemished, which isn't bad for a 1.5 year old car on Colorado roads.  (Though, she is on her second windshield.)

We've heard horror stories from several people about roads in Alaska-- including Bob's Uncle Bob who is up there right now staffing an RV tour. (BTW-- if you're reading this Bob, thanks so much for the package of brochures and flyers, they are fantastic!)

So our approach is part offense and part defense.  We'll be avoiding the 79 mile gravel Top of the World highway, known as much for its flying rocks (most rental companies won't let you take their cars on it) as it is for its spectacular views.  But, we will be adding significantly to M's protective shield of plastic. (You'll remember the previous post where we got the quote.)

After some debate (Bob wanting to cover every visible piece and Lisa not wanting ugly seams and plastic up to the door handles) we settled on a happy medium:  Full hood, 6" up the sides, and a partial rear.

Two nights away from home and M will be truly ready to both hit the road and be hit by it.

On another subject--  keep those comments and suggestions coming.  Gene, this is for you:

A View from Bob & Lisa's Deck in Conifer at Sunset

For those of you who haven't yet been to our house, that really is our everyday view. So, Alaska has its work cut out for it to provide something more spectacular.  When we find it, we'll be sure to post it here.
